not irrelevant to many others. a lot of people use it for trips through the country where they take pics of buildings, scenery. there are even enough professional uses like scouting out the locations for a new golf course, new hotels, camp sites, movie set locations and many more.
there are already other solutions for it though.
you just have to have the time between your GPS device and your camera in sync. there are programs that map the automatically the pics to the gps location via the time when they where taken. sony has a dedicated gps but in priciple it works with all of them.
seems that technology is then just integrated in iphoto. sounds neat.
What I'm thinking here is that the GPS is integrated into the camera. So when you take a pic, the GPS coordinates are recorded in the metadata so you know where it was taken.

Try to restore the original firmware and then use the sn0wbreeze jailbreak.

Ok. Just stupid again. Just needed to re-install adobe reader. Geez, that was not a tough fix.

This is great. Looks like you put a lot of work into it.
Maybe a couple of 'pro' apps could be used?
Yeah, my only regret is that, at the time of shooting, FCE didn't want to work (I think I need to reinstall) so I was left with Aperture. :o

Oh, I see. If iTunes is downsampling for the iPad (most powerful iDevice), I highly doubt it will play on an iPod. Keeping a dual-library really is the only way to go.

Good news! Virtual PC for Intel Macs never made much sense anyway. Why go to great pains to emulate an OS that can run native?
Even better good news would be for the Mac Business Unit to develop a Mac-only version of Vista. Since it would target a very narrow set of hardware, it could be leaner, faster, more stable, and contain all the proper hardware drivers. Spared many of the woes of other Windows users, we'd be happy, and Microsoft would make more money as Mac users buy copies to use with Boot Camp or Parallel. They'd make far more with Vista for Macs than they'd ever make with Virtual PC.
All in all, I'd say things are going quite well in the Mac world.

I would like to see,
thinner displays
HDMI
Better quality
Better response times
And 20" at 200 23" at 350 30" at 700
I couldn't wait.
Sitting here typing at my 3 week old 30" ACD I'm wondering what would the advantage of a thinner display be? (It's the foot that takes the space)
I don't get any noticeable lag on video or large graphics so how much faster do you need the response time to be?
Build quality is far in excess of any other monitor I've ever had - this thing is built like a tank and the image quality (as a print designer) is spot on. It may not suit people who need an oversaturated bright display but for me it's hard to imagine a higher image quality.
Yes, I'd like the price to have been 700 but it isn't and compared to an Eizo it's a fair price. Using a 30" professionally, in comparison to a 17" monitor (okay, big jump) I used to spend 50% of my mouse time (subjective) moving windows around the screen to get at what I wanted. The productivity gains mean this monitor will pay for itself in 6-9 months. If you want to buy a 30" for leisure use then it's a luxury and cost shouldn't be an issue.
Even if new ACD's came out at the above specs tomorrow, I wouldn't regret having bought this monitor when I did.
HDMI isn't an issue for me as I watch movies on my TV and don't have time to get into video editing etc. ;)

There are a couple members on there ranked as newbies - so they're not really all that active if they've been around for that long and have so few posts. But I guess it would indicate that they're at least visiting the site regularly.

I'm going to be in Seattle on holidays from Canada during the launch and plan to be there to get the 3G iPad. With the 5pm launch time, I'm just trying to figure out what time to show up.
i know...im really unsure of what to expect considering wifi release, presales, etc. so i'll likely spend most of my mid afternoon around shopping and keeping a close eye. plenty of things around.

Sorry -- *APPLE*-shift-delete. I'm still carrying around Windows remnants too, so I always seem to confuse Apple and Option when I write them out. ;)
The date deleted part is a good point. And I don't have an answer for that. :(
:) Thanks - I'll try the Apple key combo when I'm back at home tonight. I suppose for the date deleted bit I'll have to find the right combo of -ctime or -atime or whatever in the UNIX find command and go that route. Just hoping to be able to do it from the GUI for convenience - esp. in situations where I want to get rid of all but one or two files older than 30 days, etc.
Thanks,
Sean

Duff-Man says....have a look at Apple's Logic Express (http://www.apple.com/logicexpress/) or if you want the top-of-the-line pro software there is Logic Pro (http://www.apple.com/logic/) or Mark of the Unicorn's Digital Performer (http://www.motu.com/) ...also, don't overlook Apple's Garageband (http://www.apple.com/ilife/garageband/) that comes as part of the $49 iLife suite....oh yeah!

Android = best software
Apple = best hardware
Wish one or the other would resolve their issues, hehe.
Android is great for some people, IOS is great for others. I was a die hard w7 guy, always upgrading, cooking own roms, till I used the iPhone 2G.
User experience is unmatched on IOS, and all my android friends agree. They just like open-ness and 'you shouldnt have to jailbreak'.
You cant keeep throwing more and more processing power at something that doesnt work properly in the 1st place, hence why I'm with Apple stilll.
So I would disagree with your comment. I think Android have the best hardware and Apple by far the best software.

It trickle charges after it fully charges. You could leave it plugged in 24/7 and it would be fine.
Exactly! You cannot overcharge it.
