Hello there!
I set up a mac mini server for my little company a few months ago and I find it to be overkill for the simple tasks I use it for. Originally I planned to setup a web hosting service, an email server and a wiki but our needs didn't grow as I expected and we found simpler alternatives.
Anyway, I am now thinking about selling it but I was wondering if it was simple to transfer the Mac OS X Server license. I can't seem to find info online on how to do this and I don't want to sell a product which won't easily be usable.
Any tips on doing this?
Thanks!
Just the SLS license, not the mini itself?
Most people will tell you that you can not. I'm not sure that is correct. Per your license agreement the disks that came with your mini can not be transferred, unless it goes with the actual mini. However, and I am not a lawyer or anything, I have not see anything that specifically says you can not transfer the SLS license. Of course, I really didn't look that hard, and the buyer would need their own media.

Both cameras look great! I'm going to have to watch for sales. Leaning toward the second one. Thanks for posting the pictures. They look great! So jealous you went to the Harry Potter park.

This is true. A lot of people are talking trash about the devices but I doubt anyone as ever used one. To me the UI was much more concise than the iPod, the hardware was very high quality (sound from the headphone port was far superior to what the iPod outputs) and the Zune Marketplace has a nice "recommended" music software. In the end, it was poor implementation and the Apple freight train that made the Zune fail.
I don't know why people are happy about this though. Do you really only want one music player in the market? No one wants a choice? How about competition? Competition is what drives companies to innovate. I really want some company to come out with a product that pushes Apple to an even higher level of innovation. So far no one has done it.
The thing is, the Zune was most like the iPod Classic and you can bet that the iPod classic is going to die too. Everything is moving to multi-function devices like the iPhone or other smart phones. The iPod touch lives well because of the vast Apple eco system and apps that are available for it. Apps make a huge difference for the viability of the iPod Touch. If it was just a media player... it's days would be numbered too.
MS was just too little too late. Question is, are they too late in the Phone OS market too? Nokia is their best chance to catch up or make a mark that's for sure.
I do wish Apple would take one cue from MS and the Zune.... make a brown iPhone! :p

Can anyone explain why that happens?
Also, out of interest, at what line do the other spreadsheets go nutty?

I know if you have Verizon, they will move everything (pictures, contacts, texts, etc.) from your old phone to your new phone for free.

When MS bought vPC I figured that was the beginning of the end. They have a history of destroying great Mac products.

I'm guessing 10K+ since they were never released and could be the only ones in existence. Also they are the long awaited tablet that could have been released over a decade ago.

Anyone who for some reason doesn't understand resolution independence just needs to know one thing: there isn't a downside. Don't worry about it. A lot of computer games are resolution independent these days (including the UI) and nobody freaks out about that, eh?

I would imagine that the internet will present it's share of problems. Having the OS scale won't solve the problem of everything on the internet being 72 dpi. Yes, we can scale the text, but I'd imagine it will still be a huge mess once they start cranking up DPIs on the monitors.

Actually just read another post about 64-bit and 32-bit kernel and wondering if that is the root cause of my issue?
I will try the 32-bit when I get home later.
Incidentally, will I notice much difference between 64-bit and 32-bit?
Will update later :o)

Never considered one until I used my friend's 13" he just got, but once a real processor is adopted, I think I'm gonna get one. Love the speed the SSD brings, just not once you need to do anything remotely processor intensive. If they put like an i3 or i5 Sandy Bridge in I'm all over that (preferably i5 if the form factor could accommodate it, idk the power usage/heat factor off the top of my head).

Hi guys,
I will be applying for some internships and need to get a technical resume done sometime in the future. I want to pay a professional to do it but in my area there are none around my area that write resumes for technical fields. I was wondering if any of you have ever used an online service, and if so would you recommend one?
I've been on the hiring side of things many times and I know how important a nice looking resume is and mine definitely needs updated so I am in search of a service that does this well.

I do agree that I think you have a very good campaign concept of "too easy". Apple could run one ad per iLife app to show just how "too easy" it can be to do something. The only thing this ad (and your other one) is missing is the Apple logo at the end and maybe apple.com/ilife or something like that.
We really have some nice stuff for this contest. It's going to be hard to decide on which one to vote for. :)

Does that mean that VirtualPC is now abandonware and can be distributed freely?

But very close, and closer than it has ever been.
I have always wanted a small laptop. I need a keyboard, and pixel level accuracy. This leaves OUT the Ipad.
However, the MBA is not perfect. The software for sleep is not 100% perfect. I have received updates from both Apple and various software manufacturers that are on my machine, that I am sure that are directly related to crash reports that I have sent in.
My best friend the genius says he hasn't heard of my problems, but they happen all the time. (I am a fan of just shutting the lid).
I have an ultimate 11 inch machine. 4 gigs, 1.6 processor. The 4 gigs is perfect, but I would like the processor to be a little bit faster. Some apps that I run, are just a "bit" laggy. I would also like 256 gig SSD. I actually think I need about 200 gig. I am definitely making decisions to cut down on app load because of disk space, not too mention ANY real amounts of media. I would also like a bit more physical screen size. It looks like more should be available. I don't need back-lit keys, but I wouldn't care if they added it.
It's almost perfect.

Holy cow it was crowded there! I got there at 7:30 and the line was already a whole block long. I'll try and go back around 2 or 3 and check out the situation. If it's still crazy I'll just place an online order for delivery in a couple of weeks.

Wait if you can. Should possibly see a refresh around the time the iMac gets updated. Since it's for next school year, you have time.
