Rebound

Sunday night's alright for fighting
The Dallas Stars have had a rough week. They'd been outscored 11-4 in two home losses to Detroit and Vancouver.

They needed good news. It came in the third peroid of yesterday's come-from-behind 4-2 victory at St. Louis, which clinched the season series sweep. Whereas in recent years the Stars couldn't do anything right on the road, they've won five straight away from the American Airlines Center and have a nice 11-7-2 record on the road.

Yesterday was a good win because they beat the Blues 40-27 in face offs and committed just two penalties (whilst killing off both). Kari Lehotnen was very good in goal and all four Dallas tallies came from the big guns: Brendan Morrow (two), James Neal and Brad Richards.

We're close to the midpoint of the season and it's starting to get abundantly clear that the Stars a ton better than what we anticipated. As ownership troubles persist, questions arise around trading Brad Richards, which is pretty disturbing. Yet, we must give credit to GM Joe Niewendyk, who's turned things around in pretty short order and with zero budget.

Speaking of, the Stars spent a little cash on Trevor Daley, giving the defenseman six years and almost $20 million.
