Spring Training 2.0: The day we beat Blake Beavan's ass and more

Oh whoa oh whoa Ogando!
The Texas Rangers followed a 5-4 loss to the Seattle Mariners Tuesday with a rollicking 10-hit, 10-run win over the hated California Angels.

Against Seattle, the Rangers faced two somewhat familiar faces: Blake Beavan and Josh Lueke, two of the prospects given up in the Cliff Lee trade a year ago.

Beavan allowed three hits, a walk and two runs in two innings. Lueke -- the guy accused of rape -- allowed a lone hit in an inning. Showed them who's boss.

We get Neftali Feliz' first start tomorrow.

The Good
Arthur Rhodes, Mark Hamburger, Zach Phillips, Jacob Brigham and Pedro Strop all turned in scoreless frames the last two days. For Strop, it was his second this spring.

Outfield invitee Doug Deeds is doing his thing. He hit his second home run of the spring and has a .400 average.

Dave Murphy finally had his day. Two hits and a three-run dinger.

Tommy Hunter had two scoreless frames, striking out two and allowing a lone hit.

Mike Young is just hating this. Hitting .571 this spring.

Ian Kinsler's hitting .429.

Julio Borbon's hitting .714.

Chris Davis had two doubles and two RBI against Seattle. Playing mainly third base, he's hitting .333 this spring and I don't think he's record a strikeout.

The Bad
Cody Eppley allowed two runs and three hits in relief Tuesday.

Nellie Cruz and Josh Hamilton are hitting .143. Elvis Andrus is hitting .125.

Alexi Ogando was stretched to two innings and struck out. Four hits. Two runs.

Prospect Corey Young's already had a forgettable spring. Another two runs allowed today.
