Packers 45, Cowboys 7

The thousand-yard stare
It's tough coming on here today to talk about the Dallas Cowboys. I'm utterly speechless and many others are the same way.

There are no words that can properly describe or explain the seemingly inexplicable detachment the Dallas Cowboys have from the game of football.

Nobody on that sideline were trying. From coaches to players. They do not care about playing football. They almost have no business suiting up. They might as well give-up.

Last night's 45-7 drubbing at the hands of the Green Bay Packers, I declare, is the worst game for the Cowboys since 44-6 and is one of the top 5 worst Cowboys games in this franchise's history coming in the worst season in Cowboys history.

I come every week following a Cowboys game and I dole out grades for every group. Not this week. All F's. Everyone, everywhere.

There wasn't a player or group that played well outside of Dez Bryant and Mat McBriar, and, frankly, the rest of the receiving corps and special teams stunk so bad that I can't give them a better grade.

Actually, the special teams weren't bad. A blocked kick. McBriar was great outside of an idiotic penalty to negate a beautiful punt to nail the Pack inside their own 2-yard-line. Then I thought Brian McCann brought a little energy on kick-offs.

One of the worst games in Cowboys history, of course, had one of the worst moments in Cowboys history.

Early in the game, the Cowboys were forced to call a timeout on defense. It was early, but you expect your defense to be on top of the game considering the head coach is the defensive coordinator.

In the second quarter, head coach Wade Phillips begs to be fired mid-game after he challenges a touchdown by Brandon Jackson, which wasn't close and even if it was overturned, the Pack score on the next play anyway. Two timeouts used.

Later in the second quarter, the Pack are driving and Phillips' defense is forced to use another timeout. Three timeouts used while the Cowboys defense is on the field.

The Pack score. It's 21-0. Half almost over. Pack kick off. McCann fields it and runs. As his knee is squarely on the ground, the ball is ripped from his hands, caught in mid-air by a Packer and run in for a score. 28-0.

There is 2:04 left on the clock. So a review can not be called from the official's booth. The Cowboys must call for the review.

BUT ALL THE TIMEOUTS WERE USED ON A DUMB CHALLENGE IN ADDITION TO TWO OTHER PLAYS ON WADE PHILLIPS' DEFENSE!!!!

They can't challenge. Refs blow the call. Cowboys get blown out like a motherfucker.

There were about a dozen other dumb, idiotic, embarrassing plays for the Cowboys. That, to me, is the worst. One of the top 10 most embarrassing sequences for the Cowboys.

Jerry Jones looks like a fool. That giant stadium will have two other teams playing in it this February. He's blown three different drafts. He's stuck with this lamebrain coach. And his team had their doors blown off in front of the entire country.

If he doesn't fire Phillips, there might be a revolt. Jones will have to hide in George W. Bush's fortress in Preston Hollow.
