    I had the same situation for my daughter who turned 14.They requested for biometric fee $80.00.It should be simple and OK.just pay the the amount and you should be fine.After that you may get a FP notice.

    Once we sent the bimetric fee,proceesing resumed and everything was fine.

    Same here. My daughter turned 15 and got 2nd FP notice but NO fees as you mentioned but her was transferred to another center few months ago.

    I really don't understand the logic of fees. PLease correct me if I am wrong here -I thought there is a 'lock-in-date' which is at the elegibility data at the time of filing. This saves all concerns of aging out and issues regarding fees. They can't keep asking for enhanced fees for already filed cases.

    You don't need a "path to citizenship" to family reunification. Please do not link A-B and so C-D. They are totally two different issues.

    agree 100%..... aila tries to project that it represents immigrants..... aila actually doesn't represent immigrants..... it works for the benefit of its members ..... i.e. immigration lawyers...... most immigration benefit if more people like us are stuck in the system..... if there r more applicants..... & more people stuck in the system.... then more immigration lawyers will make more money...... so family unification which has nothing to do with path to citizenship..... somehow become related...... or even synonymous.... 3 cheers for representatives of "immigrations"........

    I have one question that I will post here. I do not want to open a new thread.

    I am inviting my in-laws and I filled their DS156 forms online. After filling everything, it generated the pdf file of DS156. In that pdf file, there is one section in upper right hand corner called "DO NOT WRITE IN THIS SPACE". Under that section there is a line (fill in the blanks type) starting with "On ______ by _____ under section 214(b) 221(g) ".

    Now after generating the pdf, the appointment date was automatically put into this section. Example: "On 01 January 2009 by ......".

    I am worried why they put the date there and the date was not there when I took appointment for my parents. I also checked my collegues parents DS156, and the date was still not there. It is Mumbai consulate.

    Can somebody please confirm if they had similar experience and they got their parent's or in-laws visa granted??

    IMO, you should spend the money yourself instead of depending on the company for GC expenses...

    Why are you worried about the money? Go hire a lawyer and get your GC process started, asking your manager/HR just for the paperwork support. That way it is easier for you and easier for them too...IMO, Asking the company to bear the expenses for GC is too much, especially in this economy.

    As far as H1 is concerned, I guess you need to be in constant touch with your manager and press the issue till she talks to the immigration people and move from there. Talk to your supervisor and ask his help to move the paperwork faster. May be he/she can in turn talk to the HR person to speed things up, without the baloney you are hearing from HR. Also, talk to the lawyer and offer your HR manager that the lawyer can speak to her directly about the issue to speed up things...

    In the meantime, keep your options open and look for another job so that you can transfer your H1 and start fresh...Hopefully if this option works, don't make the mistake of waiting for HR to start your GC process...Just be proactive and do it on your own...

    i wonder what that extensed security review means. looks like never ending. hope no one gets stuck in it.

    Ok then i volunteer to bump this thread :) Only problem is that still will not push thid topic way up.

    There was a suggestion to send flowers to the core team, let us instead send donations. I am SURE that the core team needs contributions more than flowers.

    Howzzat about the $5 contribution suggestion, with each contribution we lose some percentage as taxes and feees. I am not saying we contribute $10 EVERY month, but can the members not make a ONE TIME contribution of TEN DOLLARS?

    Last week i received a RFE against my I485 application. My PD is not current yet. I''m kind of confused about the RFE. I need some help from you guys...

    Check out the RFE letter comment at the following:
    """""USCIS records indicate that you began your employment with compnay A in October 2005. However, the record indicates that the i-129, H1b, granting your authorization to work for company A was not filed until aug, 2006.     Now let me explain my situation.
    I had my first H1b from compnay B, for three years (oct 2002 to oct 2005). Then I started my renewed my H1b under another company C. (oct/2005 to oct 2008). Then i received my PERM labor from another company A (the company they USCIS mentioned in their RFE). Both the company C and compnay A was owned by one person. So even i was working with the company C, my payroll was under Company A. Right after I received my labor certificate from Compnay A, my lawyer suggested my transfer my H1b from Compnay C to company A. Then i received my h1b approval for compnay A in Jan 2007 to october 2008. In 0ctober 2008 i renewed my h1b from compnay A again for one year. But in november compnay A terminted me and withdraw my H1b. I got a new job and moved to a new compnay in december 2008. Everything is normal after that until i received the RFE. I have to get back to USCIS in by the end of this month with the evidence. I has the legal status all the time i worked for all those companies.

    PLease let me know what you guys think about the whole situation.

    The USCIS PDF for I-693 (http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/I-693.pdf) says "OMB No. 1615-0033; Expires 06/30/07" at the top of the form. At the bottom it says "Form I-693 (Rev. 09/16/05) Y". Will we be able to submit this form if we get the medical exam done now and file it with the I-485 on July 1 or later?

    I found another version of the PDF which says "OMB No. 1615-0064; Expires 05/31/08" at the top and "Form I-693 (Rev. 09/16/05) N" at the bottom. I've only found this at these sites:

    I don't know if the doctor will use my copy or provide a copy. Is it a problem if the doctor provides and uses the older form?

    Hi,

    Even my co-workers (including me) have not received their returned applications. I have a question here:

    The Cover letter of my 485 petition was signed by MY EMPLOYER on the company's letterhead. Just in case, just in case, INS decides to return that application - will it be sent to my employer's address or to my residential address??

    There was no attorney involved and it was not a concurrent filing with I-140.

    The Advance degree + 3 years of experience on H1B are not just a matter of fact formulation from the senators. It?s an effort to revert back to the 60?s through 80?s formula where the only way to immigrate to the US (at least for Engineers) was to pursue a master?s degree in the US and then adjust their status to a PR. There is a growing demand from academic institutions to revive this culture. America wants people to study here, specialize in evolving technologies and drive the technological innovation. Every day we see posts on this forum of folks wanting to include laws and regulations to fix the situation that they are in. We need to have a unified front with a common goal. May be we should learn from the ?less educated? Latino community. They probably do not have the internet media to rally support but boy did they have their voice heard with ONE COMMON AGENDA.

    I agree with you. All the peoples want to fix the problem currently they are in. We should have a comman, broad sense goal.

    In the RIR system EB2 was MS + 3 and BS+5.

    If BS+5 is still the norm in PERM...how come MS+0 is acceptable under PERM. Did they change the rule....I think this a loophole

    It isn't a loophole. That's how the PERM Jobzone/SVP system works.

    I am planning on filing a new PERM as a prospective employee of a consulting firm and also have a PERM filed simultaneously from my current employer..

    USCIS might be processing the applications in the order of recipt date
    (need not adjudicate the application which is based on priority date)

    So, i think USCIS can process applications without priority date being current.

    I think this is correct. They can have the app reviewed and mark it approvable if it has all the necessary documents, then when the PD is current (meaning visa number available) they will pull it off the shelf, allocate visa number to it and send out the approval notice.
    That's my guess, I have not seen their SOP (std operating procedure).
