I was informed that without I-94 card she cannot be added to my insrurance.
Can anyone suggest me some good insurance I can take online/india for this kind of situation...???

I have never seen anyone asking for an I-94 card to get your wife added to your insurance.If you are an employee going through employers insurance then they have to add you and your family to the insurance coverage without any discrimination . That is as far as I know . Maybe I could be wrong but I am pretty sure about it. You can take her insurance without she being here . I recently changed my coverage this month for myself and my family and its start date was the same day I submitted the forms and not the 1st of next month or something like that.

Unfortunately there is no way around it. So in short, if you do not get your EAD in time, not only can you work but you cannot drive. Interesting times.
Wonder how illegals manage their day to day stuff without being able to drive. Atleast in TX where there is no semblance of public transport.

I have called CIS 2 times, they told me to wait until Aug 2nd week.

Thanks for a great forum. I am EB3 India (PD Dec 02) with 140 approved June this year. Rumor has it that the small firm I work for, is going to be acquired by a much larger firm with thousands of employees globally. I am concerned about my ongoing GC process. First question
Q1. What happens to my GC process?
Considering the behemoth like size of the company that is going to acquire us I am quite sure that the GC process of the few employees from my present employer will take a back seat.
Q2. What are the things I can do proactively.
I have read on various threads that it is possible to join other employers and port the PD to them. But considering the fact that company that started the GC process is no longer there, how would this porting of PD with new labor, 140 etc would occur...
I would appreciate if someone can provide answers to my questions. Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Application Type: I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS
Current Status: Document mailed to applicant.
On December 19, 2007 we mailed the document to the address we have on file. You should receive the new document within 30 days. If you do not, or if you move before you get it, call customer service.
What does it mean? Does it mean that I-485 is approved.
Pls guide.

I know about the "same or similar" clause in AC21. How many of you have got a RFE/Problems based on just this clause alone ?
Also, If you filed labor 3 years ago for software programmer, in 3 years, you could have become a system analyst, DBA or system Architect etc etc, So, how does "same or similar" matter here ?
Also, It will be helpful if we have a forum category "AC21", Admin, please consider this.

This is the only query as stated in the 221(g) form got from Chennai embassy for your reference.
"State Unemployment Wage Reports, showing all wages paid to each employee in the state, for the past two quarters as filed to State of California (This should not be payroll reports, but the actual forms filed to the State authorities listing each employee and wages paid during the quarter.)"
Could you please provide me the exact form name and number to submit through the dropbox. Also some explanation if possible on how the form will look like in order to track it down?
Any help in this regard is greatly appreciated.

DOS tried to update the system reflecting a big jump in the visa dates for May. The system was unused to any changes lately - leave aside such large forward movements - and as a result it crashed.
DOS managed to recover the system by replacing all date fields with character fields. The rumor is that the value for all those character fields is now "C", whatever that means.

Bounce flash is a good idea, but you need 1) a powerful flash, and 2) to keep a good distance from the subject. If you get too close, as I painfully learned from a few rolls of slide film shot over recent trips to visit family, the flash goes up to the ceiling, and comes straight down again, leaving eyes in soft but ugly shadow (fortunately, the rest of the photo was well exposed, so I think it can be rescued in PS).
Flash photography is a lot of complexity for a beginner (I feel like a total newbie at flash, and I think I'm not doing too badly on basic exposure of ambient light with a few years' practice), and even modern ?-TTL flash can screw up if used without the photographer's thought or intervention, though probably not as much as the old-style auto flash that I'm using. Of course, there's an almost foolproof way to do flash - using guide numbers - but who wants to spend ten minutes digging for the calculator to figure out flash exposure for each shot, and then being stuck with one aperture dictated by flash power and subject distance?

I have flown KLM to India through Schipol (Sep 07) with an expired visa on my passport old passport and no visa on the new passport. Nobody asked me any questions.

First let us get USCIS to process our applications strictly based on PD. Then we will have more people for the rally because new PD date members would be more motivated to participate in the grassroot effort
