As I go through these depth charts for the Dallas Mavericks, it's shocking me what a lack of depth this team has. If you consider Roddy Beaubois and Dominique Jones as question marks due to injury and inexperience, the Mavericks do not have a very strong bench.
In my opinion, the Mavericks have two solid starting forwards. One good back-up (Shawn Marion) and that's about it.
It's scary. Really scary. This team's an injury or two from being really ordinary ... and they're already old. The more I think about them, the worse my gut feeling gets.
This post ends and begins with ...
Dirk Nowitzki
The best of all time. We know what we're getting from game to game. It's a matter of when he decides to quit.
Ian Mahinmi
There isn't a marginal big man (6-11, 240) that Donnie Nelson doesn't want to at least take for a test drive. Mahinmi is like a cheaper DeSagana Diop, except French. He's a former first-round pick (No. 28 in 2005) and has played a grand total of 32 games in that time period. The good news is that he's still just 23 years old (24 on Nov. 5). Still, yikes.
