The interesting side story to the Dallas Cowboys potential cratering of their 2010 season is the impact it could have on the Dallas Stars and Mavericks.
It is well documented that attendence at both home games for the Stars have been sparsely attended. This probably has a lot to do with most people are generally unaware that the Stars are playing. I mean, it's mid-October.
It certainly doesn't help that the Rangers are still chugging along and the Cowboys are prancing about, doing stand-up leapfrog over each other.
Despite the attendance issues, the Stars are 4-0-0 gathering all eight possible points with a thrilling 3-2 shootout win over St. Louis, who led 2-0 until the end of the first period.
Again, I have no clue if the Stars are lucky are good or both. But, suffice it to say, their superstars have been really good.
The fivesome of Loui Eriksson, Brad Richards, Mike Ribeiro, James Neal and Brendan Morrow have accounted for 29 of the team's 37 total points.
Of the 14 goals scored in the four games, those five have accounted for 12, including four each from Eriksson and Morrow.
The Stars have been without superstar potential on this team for quite a while. They had guys that get you 50 points and 20 goals a season. But no one outside of the outburst of Richards is (health enough) to get 70-100 points in a season.
As long as Kari Lehtonen stays the course, this team might be alright.
